Start From Zero is a welcoming, low-pressure workshop designed for women who have always wanted to play guitar but didn’t know where to begin — or thought they missed their chance. In this 90-minute group experience, you’ll learn the fundamentals in a supportive, judgment-free environment where questions are encouraged and perfection is not required. Guitars are available to borrow, no prior experience is necessary, and you’ll make music on day one. More than a class, this workshop is an invitation into Girl Guitar — Austin’s home for women in music — where confidence, creativity, and community matter just as much as chords.

This workshop is for women 21+.

This two-hour workshop will cover 5-6 chords and tons of great technique in order to work on 2 songs to take with you. We will get you out the door with plenty of information to help you get stronger and really maximize what you already know. This is a shorter version of what we work on in our 6-week Acoustic Guitar Classes and is perfect for those who can’t commit to the full course OR for those who want to supplement what they’re already learning. Come enjoy a great time playing music and having fun!
